Pattern Cutting hell and a matalan delivery

So my skirt came today, the one from Matalan...tried it on quickly over my sweats,( is it just me or is it way too cold to get dressed at the moment?? where I live snow is thick on the ground and after a day of pattern cutting I literally got in and went to bed for three hours, what a bum!  It looks ok but I think a little big. Am so tempted just to buy the new look one now aaarggh! But was pleasantly surprised by the chunky gold zip down the front, you dont see this on the website. What do you think? Ill show you later when I do my first outfit post (eeek!) That is if I can summon the energy-my brain goes into some kind of meltdown after I pattern cut, for those who havent done it before its like a sick mix of maths, map planning and origami. I hate it! But you kinda have to embrace it if you want to go into menswear as it's pretty important. Sigh. Ok self indulgent rant over I really want to show you these amazing wide leg vintage trousers I got from an Oxfam in Camden. I love Charity shop shopping, I find it a lot more satisfying than vintage shopping as you really have to work for it! They have a really cool chalet landscape pattern a bit like a swiss french toile. They are a bit wacky but teamed with a simple vest and wedges I think they could look great...pics to follow

BEARCAT

Etsy is so great for finding some on trend unique pieces . I found out about BEARCAT through twitter and she has some really great pieces, my faves are this skirt ( adding to the leather obsession!) and this cute grungy dress. And of course this amazing headpiece ( so channelling Betty Draper from the fabulous mad men ). Unfortunately the US shipping is the sad end to a lot of etsy/ebay tales, although I'm a great believer of no pain no gain!

Hair Idol

When will I have hair like this?? The hair products industry definitely owe me this by now. In other news my mum gave me her vidal sassoon leave in conditioner which is brilliant for my bleached out ends so it's not all bad. Just got a twitter account (more to stalk my favourite celebrities than anything but hey.) The weirdest people try and follow you its all very odd. On the cards for today is uni work. We have to do a project for Abercrombie and Fitch, its due so soon so I really should get on with it...also need to start work on my dissertation. AAAAH I hate final year!

The ongoing saga of my leather skirt...

I bought this skirt online today after months of lusting after a real leather one, only to discover after I clicked confirm the one I really wanted had been reduced! Why does that always happen! What with new look taking away their free postage and matalan not doing free returns, the whole thing is turning into a bloody nightmare! I suppose Ill just have to wait till the matalan one arrives and see if I can track the New look one down in store. Sometimes I wish I hated all clothes and was like my dad who only buys a new thing if the old one had a hole in it!

PU or not to PU?

I have been pondering on getting some leather shorts for a while, and always chicken out. They are one of this years trend's that I really cant see flattering my thunder thighs as I affectionately call them. this pair from tesco may be a good test run though, only £14 so wont break the bank but Im just not sure about PU on shorts? I'm doing the classic thing of going from the pair I really want to a substitute, but hey with the right styling they could look? What do you think?

Peter Pan Junkie

Recently I have been totally obsessed with peter pan collars. Lace, beaded jersey you name it I seem to own one. This dress from topshop really caught my eye though and I'm trying really hard not to buy it! My friend might be able to get discount though as she works there so I'm thinking a little Christmas present for myself? It is pretty christmassy!

As it stands
